journey through the bible
This year (2021-2022), we are taking a journey through the Bible. Together, we will discover its wonderful stories and go deeper in learning about this ancient text and its often surprising meaning and relevance for our lives today. Throughout the year, we are offering gatherings, readings, activities, and resources to explore the Bible at your own pace and level of interest. Occasional in-person education hours are scheduled eight times throughout the year (covid permitting). In between the in-person sessions, we suggest readings to do at home, and will also provide links to videos and other resources which tell the stories in different ways. Our biggest hope is that we'll all find new and wonderful ways to bring the Bible into our daily life, sharing it with family and friends, and reading it in private study. Follow Westminster's Facebook page for regular posts, suggestions, and reminders about the Journey through the Bible.
Suggested readings and videos
Read at your own pace in whatever Bible edition you choose. If anyone needs a Bible, or would like to try a different translation, Westminster has many gently used bibles we are glad to give out. You can also read the Bible on line in a variety of translations at Bible Gateway. Bible Gateway also has an excellent app you can use on your phone or tablet.
The Bible Project is an excellent video series which presents overviews of every book of the Bible. Each video is about 6-9 minutes long. We suggest watching the book overview before doing the readings for each book listed here. You can find all the book overviews at www.bibleproject.com/explore/book-overviews/
Now let's start reading! Click below for the complete reading and viewing lists:
