John and Richard Contiguglia
John and Richard Contiguglia are identical twins who have performed together as a piano duo since they were five years old. When they were twelve, they performed on stage in their hometown of Auburn with the legendary pianist-composer Percy Grainger. The twins went on to obtain their B.A. and M. Mus. degrees from Yale, where they achieved identical academic averages. They studied under the legendary Dame Myra Hess, and went on to perform with major orchestras and as duo pianists all over the world. The Contiguglias are best known for their interpretations of Schubert, Liszt, Gershwin, and Grainger. The Contiguglias performed to a sold-out audience on October 16 in their hometown of Auburn, where the audience included many of their friends, family, former teachers, and colleagues.
