Westminster Nursery School's Philosophy

Westminster Nursery School is dedicated to providing a quality preschool experience where a child can develop in an atmosphere of caring and compassion, and with a curriculum grounded in Christian values and beliefs.

Westminster's goal is to help promote the social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical development of each child through an educational program which meets the child's developmental needs.

Each child is encouraged to discover his or her uniqueness. The program is non-competitive and non-threatening, and the atmosphere is one of flexibility.

The Christian basis for the curriculum is not dogmatic or doctrinal, but emphasizes caring, sharing, cooperation, friendship, and respect.
Children learn to respect each other's feelings, have joy in each other's successes, give thanks for food and what we have, play cooperative rather than competitive games, respect nature, be inclusive of other cultures, and avoid stereotypes.
