Building Use
Many not-for-profit organizations, community groups, and other churches use Westminster for meetings, programs, lectures, classes, presentations, and other activities. The church's policy regarding building use is as follows:
"Westminster Presbyterian Church strives to be a good neighbor in the community by opening its buildings for use by other groups. The Session believes that it is good stewardship of our property to have the church buildings active, open, and alive all week long, and that Westminster can and should be a community center in the heart of downtown. Westminster Church, especially the sanctuary and chapel, is first and foremost a place of worship, but it is also open to other secular uses which are wholesome, appropriate, and respectful of the church as a house of God." (adopted by Session June 2004)
All building use requests must be approved by Session, and are subject to calendar availability, space availability, and type of use. Call 315-253-3331 for more information. The Building Use Policy and Request Form can be printed from this site: Building Use Policy and Form
Weddings and requests for other types of services (memorial services) are covered by a different policy and forms. Please call the church office at 315-253-3331 for information about weddings, funerals, and memorial services.
